Dear Reader,
In Europe the branch is looking forward to the BAUMA exhibition in Munich. In addition to being one of the world‘s largest and influential fairs, this time it also has the function of an industries barometer. The big question is, how well the construction and other related businesses are doing “after” the recession? Our guess is that we will see a very inhomogeneous picture, because even the same branches seem to be hit differently. Despite that, we will attend the show, as we always have, and we will present, for the first time, the entire product portfolio for retrofit- and OEM customers under the HUSS Group. We are really looking forward to that event and have themed it: “Have a look into the future!”
In this issue of the magazine you will find a lot of interesting news about us. Our US daughter company is, since the beginning of this year, trading as an “incorporated company,” which provides a solid base for our growing business. Also, just in time, the new online portal is live and offers many interesting features. One highlight for this issue is the new, 3D animated, function principle of the MD-system. The technical section introduces the new flow-bench capabilities at our ceramic production plant, CDC. This device helps us to increase our product performance and the implementation of changes in the production much earlier. Another large project HUSS has been working on is the retrofit of four big stationary aggregates at the Technical University of Berlin. The combination of size, age and emissions of these engines, along with high customer expectations in regards to backpressure and noise level, were really challenging for our technical experts.

MD-System new 3D animation
The MD system 3D animation is now online. Through the sequences you will be guided through the HUSS DPF systems filtration and regeneration processes. During the first steps, as an introduction, the viewer travels through the engine and exhaust pipes until reaching a complete view of the DPF. Ronny Heuer und Matthias Neubert, both Engineers at CleanDieselCeramics (CDC), know very well what happens when they turn on their switch board in a restricted area at the CDC facility. Four gen-sets, in four different buildings of the time-honored Technical University (TU) of Berlin (1), had to be retrofitted with Diesel Particulate Filters.
