LPS-SiC THE NEXT DPF GENERATION

The heart of any diesel particulate filter is, of course, the filter material. This, together with the proper sizing, are the most important decisions for fitting a particulate trap. Therefore, it has always been the intention of HUSS to be active in the material production. 

Ceramic materials are known for their unique material properties, e.g. heat resistance, chemical resistance and mechanical durability. Although, the production process is very complicated and only a handful of companies around the world have the necessary expertise. 

We committed to developing, in cooperation with one of the most advanced research institutes in Germany, the Fraunhofer institute, a ceramic material targeted to heavy-duty and off-road applications' needs. The result is the LPS-SiC, a silicon carbide, based on liquid phased sintering. 

After three years of hard work, the production began during the summer of 2008. The brand-new production facility, nearby Dresden, is specifically designed to meet the requirements of customers with small and medium production volumes.
